ABOUT MARIE-EMMANUELLE
BIOGRAPHY
Hartness writes, directs and produces character driven stories. A Berlinale Talents alumna, she is a winner of the Canon Competition with WRITER’S BLOCK; IFP alumna and First Prize Directorial Discovery at the Rhode Island International Film Festival for AFTER ELLA. She is twice finalist at Women in Film International Short-case and selected in the “10 Filmmakers to Watch in 2014” by The Independent Magazine. Her productions include PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY for which she was co-nominated for a WGA Award. She is a Sundance Lab finalist, Screencraft semi-finalist and Austin Film Festival second rounder. Hartness graduated from la Sorbonne, UCLA Professional Screenwriting Program and Harvard University. She teaches screenwriting at Emerson College.
